Douglas County, GA (October 24, 2018) – In Douglas County, a car accident with reported injuries took place at Thornton Road. The accident shut down parts of the highway this morning.
The accident was so severe that multiple emergency responders from ambulance crews to firefighters arrived at the scene. Heavy delays took place. Police reported that the accident involved an overturned vehicle that might have been struck by another vehicle.
Interstate 20 eastbound was closed down for quite some time while police investigated the scene. Backups could be seen on the roads around the area of exit 44.
