Duluth, GA (November 7, 2018) – Police say that a freak pedestrian crash took place that left a driver pinned between his vehicle and the side of a McDonald’s building. The accident took place on Sunday, November 4. Officers said that they were able to free the driver and safely transport him to the hospital.
The pedestrian involved in the accident has since been identified as 21-year-old Carlos Tuscano. Police say that, when they last checked, he was listed in stable condition.
Tuscano had been in the drive-thru line at the restaurant on the Duluth Highway when the accident took place. He dropped his credit card outside his car, so he opened his door to pick it up. In doing so, he pressed down on the gas pedal and his vehicle moved forward.
Officers arrived at the scene around 7 p.m., which is when they found Tuscano non-responsive with his body half out of the vehicle. After two officers started CPR on him, he started gasping for air. He was then taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
