Eden, NC (November 14, 2018) – In Eden, authorities have been working to identify a man who was tragically killed suddenly in a serious industrial accident. The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has since identified him as 44-year-old William Villatoro of Bayshore.
At the time, Villatoro was a part of a team who had been contracted to remove metal from the MillerCoors plant that was newly vacant in the area. Villatoro had been using a cutting saw when it suddenly jerked back into him, striking him in the upper body.
Villatoro was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Investigators from the NC Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division are working with police at this time.
We would like to take a moment to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of William Villatoro and hope that all parties will be able to find peace and comfort at this time. We understand just how difficult it can be to lose a loved one in one of these sudden and traumatic accidents.
