Fayetteville, NC (November 18, 2018) – One driver has been charged following a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on Saturday afternoon, November 17, and took one life.
At the time of the incident, 33-year-old Michael Rivas was driving his motorcycle in the 1100 block of Poplar Drive when he collided with a Mercury that was being driven by 33-year-old Taurus Perkins. Rivas died at the scene of the accident.
Fayetteville Police say that Perkins had been trying to make a left turn from Hope Mills Road onto Westgate Drive when he pulled in front of Rivas. Perkins received charges of unsafe movement that caused injury to a motorcyclist, driving with an expired registration, inspection violations, and more.
As of now, the investigation into the matter continues.
