Fayetteville, NC (November 7, 2018) – This morning, police have been searching for the driver that struck and took the life of one individual in a fatal hit and run pedestrian accident. The accident happened last night, November 6, when a vehicle struck a young man on Gillespie St before driving off and leaving the poor man lying in the road.
The pedestrian was identified as 19-year-old Jesse Adams of Fayetteville. He passed away after being struck by a vehicle on Gillespie Street at around 6 pm. Adams’ parents spoke with investigators and told them that Jesse usually walks home from work but did not arrive so they went looking for him. They located him at around 8:30 pm last night and called the police immediately to try to get medical assistance for their son. Sadly, he did not survive his injuries.
Officials say that they are, of course, treating the accident as a hit-and-run and will continue to investigate at this time.
We are extremely saddened to hear that such a young man lost his life in a senseless accident like this one.
