Florence County, SC (December 14, 2018) – Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a serious rollover accident that caused the fatality of one person this morning.

Police originally responded to the accident around 3:30 a.m. this morning on Persimmon Ford Road near Deep Wood Road in Johnsonville. The individual who lost his life was struck, which caused their Camaro to go off the side of the road, strike a ditch, and roll over several times.

Police say that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He was quickly taken to the McLeod Hospital and later died due to his severe injuries. The victim’s name has not yet been released due to the fact that family is still being notified.

Deputies are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
