South Carolina Medical Emergency While Driving

Sometimes in car accident cases, the blame to be placed seems obvious. It was the driver who ran the red light or the driver who had too many drinks and got behind the wheel. Other times, the issue of liability swims into murkier waters. Having a medical emergency while you are driving is extremely dangerous. You could suffer from an inability to control your motor functions or even a total loss of consciousness. Medical emergencies behind the wheel often result in accidents causing injury to others on the road.

Many states, including South Carolina, have laws in place that dictate what constitutes a true medical emergency while driving and how liability is determined in those cases. If you have suffered a medical emergency while operating a motor vehicle it is important that you contact a knowledgeable attorney as soon as possible. You may be leaving yourself open to lawsuits when you are not actually considered the negligent party under the law.
