Folly Beach, SC (October 27, 2018) – On Saturday morning, October 27, a man was struck and killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on Folly Beach. Police responded to the area at the 1300 block of East Ashley Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Office found that the man who was killed had been lying in the roadway in the early morning hours. They are not sure of why he was lying down at this time, but he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The motorist told police that they attempted to swerve out of the way before stopped to call authorities.

At this time, no charges have been filed against the motorist but police continue to seek information and investigate at this time. The pedestrian has not yet been identified.
