Gastonia, NC (December 4, 2018) – On Monday morning, December 4, a man was seriously injured in a bicycle accident after being struck by a vehicle on South New Hope Road. The accident happened right in front of the entrance to the Piedmont Community Charter School.
Police said that the crash took place around 8:00 a.m. The 60-year-old man was taken to CaroMont Hospital by ambulance after beign found unconscious at the scene. He was still breathing, fortunately.
A red sedan was badly damaged and towed from the scene of the accident. Police are not sure what led up to the circumstances of this accident at this time.
Police continue to investigate the accident in full.
