Gastonia, NC (November 15, 2018) – In Gastonia, the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a serious wrong-way collision that took the life of one person on Interstate 85.
At the time of the accident, the driver entered the southbound lanes of the interstate before they struck another vehicle. The accident took place tonight, November 15, around 5 p.m.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene and found that the driver had already tragically passed away due to severe trauma. At least one other person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and another received minor injuries.
A portion of the interstate was closed down and the investigation into the matter continues.
