Georgetown County, SC – One Dead, One Hospitalized After Head-on Collision

Georgetown County, SC (October 30, 2018) – Police say that one person lost their life and another was seriously injured.

Georgetown County, SC (October 30, 2018) – Police say that one person lost their life and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision that took place in Georgetown County. The accident took place on Monday, October 29 and involved a tractor-trailer.

Police arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. to find that a Dodge truck had been traveling southbound on Highway 17A close to Jamestown and suddenly veered over the center line. This caused the truck to collide with a semi-truck head-on.

The driver of the smaller pickup truck was immediately pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital with various injuries.

Police are now taking a closer look at the accident to determine why it happened.
