Georgetown County, SC (November 29, 2018) – On Wednesday night, a fatal accident took place that prompted an investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident involved at least two vehicles, though the drivers have not been identified. One person lost their life.

Police say that the accident took place around 6:00 p.m. on US Highway 17 in Pawleys Island. Emergency responders were called to render aid at the scene of the accident.  When they arrived they found that one person who was severely injured and subsequently died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident in the hopes that they will determine what caused the vehicles to collide.
