Goldsboro, NC (October 26, 2018) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a serious hit-and-run crash in Goldsboro. The accident led to injuries in a motorcyclist.

At the time, Orlando Maurice Atkinson was riding his Harley Davidson on Country Day Road when a vehicle suddenly crossed the center line and crashed into the motorcycle. The vehicle then continued onward and didn’t stop.

Atkinson was quickly airlifted to the Vidant Greenville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The suspect has not yet been found but they were believed to have been driving a GMC SUV. Police said that it is missing its driver’s side mirror and step rail, as both were torn off in the crash and left at the scene.

Police are investigating and seeking more information.
