Gordon County, GA (November 13, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident.

Gordon County, GA (November 13, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident that took the lives of one person this morning, according to police.

The one person who lost his life has since been identified as 28-year-old Cody Lovingood of Calhoun and 33-year-old Baltazar Aguilera of Ft. Mitchell was also involved in the accident. The accident was deemed a head-on collision.

GSP was called to the scene on Interstate 75 in the southbound lanes today. They found that Lovingood lost control of his Chevy Cobalt. His vehicle then spun out of control until it came to a stop in the inside lane. Aguilera had been traveling in the inside lane and struck Lovingood head-on.

Lovingood was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the reason why he lost control of his vehicle is not yet known.

Aguilera was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Drug and alcohol use are not suspected at this time and the investigation into the matter continues.
