The incident took place this morning around 7:30 a.m. when a tractor-trailer had been carrying fuel and was involved in a crash. The accident took place on Interstate 85 when the truck driver struck a patch of ice. The truck immediately caught on fire.

The fire caused both Interstate 85 and 73 to be closed down because the truck was in the intersection with both highways. Firefighters were instantly called to the scene of the accident to help extinguish the flames. Police say that the driver was the only person injured in the accident and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. At this time, the extent of his injuries is not known.
