Greenville County, SC (December 3, 2018) – This morning, December 3, the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a fatal accident that took the life of one person. The vehicle involved was submerged in water by the time police arrived.
A 2004 Volkswagen Jetta was involved in an accident on Center Drive around 2:07 a.m. today when it suddenly struck a guardrail and crashed into the water off the side of the road. One victim was located in the vehicle and rescued, but it was unfortunately too late. The accident victim did not survive the accident.
Deputies are still searching the area to look for other potential victims involved in the accident with an expert team of divers. Police continue to investigate at this time.
