Hertford County, NC (November 28, 2018) – On the morning of Thanksgiving, four people were walking along US-13 in Hertford.

Hertford County, NC (November 28, 2018) – On the morning of Thanksgiving, four people were walking along US-13 in Hertford County when one of them was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident. Three others were injured.

The woman who lost her life in the accident was identified as 25-year-old Danita White of Scotland Neck. She tragically passed away at the scene of the accident. There were several other vehicles parked illegally in the area and the pedestrians had been forced to walk in the road due to these vehicles, putting them in danger.

29-year-old Wendi Nevarez was traveling south at the time when her vehicle sideswiped two parked vehicles that had been parked illegally. All four pedestrians were struck by her vehicle.

At this time, the accident remains under investigation.
