Police say that at least two people lost their lives in a head-on collision that took place near the Baldwin-Jones county line on Highway 49. The accident took place this past week around 5 p.m. 

Police say that one party crossed the line for reasons that have not yet been released to the public. Traffic was backed up in the area for quite some time following the accident.

Police have not stated that anybody else was injured in the accident. Emergency responders were on-scene.
