Highway 64, NC (October 22, 2018) – Police say that one person was seriously injured and transferred to the hospital.

Highway 64, NC (October 22, 2018) – Police say that one person was seriously injured and transferred to the hospital via medical helicopter following a rear-end accident involving a truck. Police responded to the accident on Saturday morning, October 20 on U.S. Highway 64 near Bowers Road. The accident took place around 6:16 a.m.

The Highway Patrol said that 45-year-old Reginald Coleman was driving a tanker truck and tried to turn into a job site. Coleman was stopped, which is when 25-year-old Hayden Smith drove up in his pickup truck at full speed, rear-ending the tanker truck.

Smith received injuries and was quickly transported to the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. His condition is not known at this time but police continue to investigate the accident.
