Hogansville, GA (October 21, 2018) – Early Sunday morning a crash on Interstate 85, near mile marker 53 resulted in the death of the driver and the hospitalization of two of her passengers.

According to one of her passengers Cheryl Green, 43, of Hogansville reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while driving her truck. The passengers included two young children and another unidentified occupant, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Green was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident and consequently was partially ejected from her vehicle during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The two children in the backseat were immediately transported to Egleston Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other front seat occupant was completely unharmed in the crash.

At this time authorities do not suspect that alcohol played a role in the fatal accident.
