Holly Springs, NC (December 14, 2018) – A Holly Springs police officer was charged with DUI on Tuesday after he resigned from the police department where he worked. 47-year-old Jimmy Price Jr. was arrested by town police after he struck another vehicle while driving drunk.

At the time, police say that Price had been driving his pickup truck when he drifted into a turn lane, striking two other vehicles on the G.B. Alford Highway. When police arrived at the scene, they noticed that he was showing signs of intoxication. They noticed that he had a strong odor of alcohol on him and he had bloodshot and glassy eyes.

One person was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that were sustained in the accident and for broken glass.

Price has since been charged with driving while impaired and failing to slow down to avoid striking another vehicle.
