Holly Springs, GA (December 10, 2018) – A police officer was injured and authorities are still searching for two suspects after an early morning chase in Cherokee County.
Officers initially attempted to pull over the driver of a van around 1:30 a.m. this morning on Interstate 575. This is when the van pulled away and sped off toward Atlanta. Officers attempted a PIT maneuver, which caused the officer to strike the median wall and the vehicle caught fire.
An officer was injured in the chase and was immediately taken to the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. However, he has since been released and is expected to recover.
The van had allegedly been stolen from the DeKalb County Community Service Board. Police are still looking for the two suspects involved in the accident. The investigation into the matter continues.
