Horry County, SC (December 29, 2018) – Police say that one person lost their life in a fatal accident that took place on Highway 17 near Little River. Highway Patrol investigated.
The accident allegedly involved three vehicles and took place around 7:05 p.m. at Lakeside Drive. All lanes were blocked in the area for several hours after the accident took place.
The driver of a Ford Focus pulled out of a private driveway onto Highway 17 when he struck a Chevy driving southbound into the area. The driver of the Chevy then struck a Honda Odyssey in the northbound lane.
The driver of the Focus was killed at the scene of the accident. The three involved drivers were all wearing seatbelts. The other two drivers who survived the accident were taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries.
