Interstate 85, GA (October 16, 2018) – The Georgia Department of Transportation came to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on I-85 near the Jimmy Carter Boulevard that led to injuries.
The accident happened early today, October 16. GDOT closed down the HOV lane and three other lanes on the southbound parts of the highway. There were five damaged vehicles and an overturned recycling box truck. Officials worked to open all lanes around 12:30 after the damaged vehicles were moved to the right shoulder.
Injuries were reported but we are unaware of the names of the individuals involved in the accident. At this time, GDOT continues to investigate.
