Jefferson, GA – One Person Loses Life in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Jefferson, GA (December 14, 2018) – This morning around 6:40 a.m., a Jefferson man lost his life in a fatal.

Jefferson, GA (December 14, 2018) – This morning around 6:40 a.m., a Jefferson man lost his life in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place on SR-11 near the area of Otis Gooch Road.

At the time, 55-year-old Richard Earl Lee was driving south on SR-11 in his GMC Yukon. As he came upon 38-year-old Thomas Womack, who was in the roadway, and struck him. He was not able to stop the vehicle in time.

Police are not sure why Womack was perpendicular in the southbound lane of travel at the time of the accident. Womack tragically died at the scene of the accident.

Lee did not suffer injures due to the crash. At this time, he is not expected to be charged.
