Johnston County, NC (November 28, 2018) – Police say that a woman was killed and another person was injured in a serious accident that took place last night, November 27, in Johnston County.
At the time, a woman had been driving on NC Highway 42 when her vehicle was suddenly T-boned by a Jeep traveling on Creech Church Road. The accident happened around 10 p.m. at night and police quickly realized that the vehicle that struck her had run a stop sign.
The man who caused the accident was identified as Lamarr O’Neal, who was charged with death by motor vehicle. 19-year-old Jada Billups was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. One other person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but has not yet been identified.
Troopers had to close the roadway for quite some time while the investigation was conducted.
