The Kannapolis Fire Department and other responders came to the scene, which happened on Interstate 85 around mile marker 62 between the Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and Lane Street. Two tractor-trailers allegedly struck one another.

The cab of one of the tractor-trailers involved was completely destroyed. The injured parties were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

The police investigation continues as police try to determine what caused the vehicles to collide.
