Kenly, NC (November 4, 2018) – Police say that one person was struck while on the tracks in a train.

Kenly, NC (November 4, 2018) – Police say that one person was struck while on the tracks in a train accident in Kenly. The accident happened on Saturday, November 3.

Police responded to the incident around 6 p.m. while an Amtrak train was making its way from New York to Charlotte. None of the 135 passengers that were on the train at the time received injuries. However, the accident caused the train to be delayed for more than two hours.

At this time, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the accident. The victim has not yet been identified.

The person who was struck by the train had been trespassing in the area at the time but police continue to investigate why the accident took place.
