Kill Devil Hills, NC (December 4, 2018) – In Kill Devil Hills, police have made an arrest following a fatal.

Kill Devil Hills, NC (December 4, 2018) – In Kill Devil Hills, police have made an arrest following a fatal pedestrian crash that happened this past week. At the time of the incident, a man was crossing the street and was struck by a negligent drunk driver.

At the time, police say that 55-year-old Guy Vanderver had been crossing the street when 37-year-old Michael Draper struck Vanderver as he was driving northbound. The accident happened near North Croatan Highway around 9:40 at night.

Police used a search warrant to obtain information that Draper had been drunk at the time of the accident. He was arrested on charges of felony death by motor vehicle.

Police are still trying to determine exactly how the accident took place.
