Lancaster, SC (October 26, 2018) – One person was killed and another was injured following a fatal car accident that took place following armed robberies in the Charlotte area, according to police. The accident took place yesterday, October 26, in Lancaster County.

At the time of the crash, the two men involved were out on bond from previous arrests. The accident happened at the intersection of SC 522 around 4:35 a.m. when the driver, 25-year-old Rontavious Clark, struck a truck. The SUV had been heading south when Clark and his passenger went through a stop sign.

Clark was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene. The passenger, 23-year-old Danneil Hughes, was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle and was injured.

The 53-year-old driver of the truck is expected to be okay. At the time, police determined that the pair had been fleeing from police after a string of armed robberies in the area.

They continue to investigate the accident at this time.
