Laurens County, GA (November 27, 2018) – On Sunday, a fatal accident took place in Laurens County. Police have identified the person who lost her life as a Jeff Davis High student.
The accident took place around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday. The student who lost their life was identified as a 15-year-old female from Hazlehurst whose name is being withheld due to her age. The female was confirmed to be a student at the school by the principal.
The accident took place when a Ford F-150 with four people was traveling toward Holliday Road in Rentz when it crashed into an Aviator carrying six people. Four minors in the vehicle were ejected and one died at the scene of the accident, confirmed to be a 15-year-old girl.
None of the children in the vehicle had been secured properly. Nine others were injured in the accident and one is in critical condition. The Aviator didn’t stop at the stop sign.
Police continue to investigate at this time.
