Lawrenceville, GA (October 16, 2018) – Investigators are now taking a close look at what caused the second of two airplane crashes that took place in Georgia. This one happened in Lawrenceville. At the time of the accident, a flight instructor and a student pilot were involved in an accident on Sunday afternoon, October 14 before the plane was engulfed in flames at the Gwinnett County Airport.

At the time of the accident, they were conducting touch-and-go maneuvers. The pilots didn’t make a distress call but they experienced a hard landing.

This was the second of two accidents that took place in Georgia within two days. The first one happened on Saturday and the pilot of the plane lost his life. He had been identified as 70-year-old Paul Deep of Florida.

At this time, police and the Federal Aviation Administration continue to investigate both crashes.
