Lawrenceville, GA (December 26, 2018) – In Lawrenceville on Christmas Eve, police say that a two-vehicle crash took place that took two lives and sent a third to the hospital.

The accident took place when 34-year-old Saad Varney lost control of his vehicle while traveling west on Johnson Road near an intersection. This caused Varney’s vehicle to enter into the eastbound lanes of the road and strike a Mercedes being driven by Eunice Jones. Police are not sure why he lost control of his vehicle, but police believe that alcohol or speed might have played a role.

34-year-old Dionte Jordan was in the Acura with Varney and police say that both of them were tragically killed at the scene of the accident. Jones was left in critical condition and taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police say that Varney’s vehicle was heavily damaged and even split into two during the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
