Lexington County, SC (October 16, 2018) – In Lexington County, a fatal accident took place on Monday morning, October 15. Police say two victims have since been identified, a man and a woman.
Police said that the two people who lost their lives in the accident were identified as 44-year-old Timothy Roberts and 39-year-old Nicole Beran. They lost their lives in the accident that took place in front of the South Carolina Farmer’s Market around 11:30 a.m.
At the time of the accident, deputies tried to stop a stolen Volkswagen when a chase suddenly occurred. The Volkswagen made it onto the Charleston Highway, which is when the driver, Roberts, crashed into a van that was turning into the Farmer’s market. Robert was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Beran was trapped inside the vehicle and transported to the hospital where she later died.
The driver of the van that Beran was riding in was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries as well.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
