Lexington, SC (December 2, 2018) – In Lexington, a pedestrian accident took place last night around 9 p.m. that led to the death of the pedestrian involved. Now, they have been identified by police.

The accident took place on the 5200 block of Fairview Road near Leesville. The pedestrian has been identified as 33-year-old Jessie James of Aiken. At the time, James had been walking on the road when he was suddenly struck by a motor vehicle.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but James was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and stopped at the scene to render aid and cooperate with police.

As of now, the South Carolina Highway Patrol continues their investigation into the matter.
