Lexington, SC (October 21, 2018) – A portion of highway in Lexington, SC was shut down Sunday morning at 10:00 after a two-car collision on Interstate 20 claimed the lives of one of the drivers.

According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office Michael John Callanan, 72, of Lexington failed to stop for a red light and continued through the intersection on South Lake Drive. He then crashed into a car that was exiting the nearby interstate. Callanan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The other driver was transported to Palmetto Health-Richland for non-life threatening injuries.
