Lexington, SC – Motorcycle Rider Killed in Head-On Collision

Lexington, SC (December 16, 2018) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified motorcycle rider Leonard P. Morrow was the man.

Lexington, SC (December 16, 2018) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified motorcycle rider Leonard P. Morrow was the man killed in a head-on traffic collision on Sunday afternoon.

70-year-old Morrow was riding his 2003 Harley Davidson in the 5100 block of Platt Springs Road when he was hit head-on by another vehicle around 3:15 PM. He sustained fatal injuries to his person and was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash occurred near the intersection with Sandy Springs Lane, which is very near to a Walmart Supercenter. Morrow is reported to have been driving east on Platt Springs Road, wearing his helmet, when a 2015 Nissan on the same road, headed in the opposite direction entered the roadway, crossed over the median and collided with the Harley Davidson head-on. The driver of the Nissan was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident but was taken to a local hospital after suffering from undisclosed injuries, The passenger of the Nissan was not wearing a seatbelt, but luckily only received some minor injuries. There has been no word yet on whether or not the driver of the Nissan will be charged with anything.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating this incident.
