Lexington, NC (October 30, 2018) – Police say that a female was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that.

Lexington, NC (October 30, 2018) – Police say that a female was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that happened in Lexington on Sunday, October 28.

The pedestrian has since been identified as 33-year-old Judeh Shade McPherson, who was in the southbound lane of Cotton Grove Road around 7:35 p.m. when she was struck. The driver of the vehicle that struck her was identified as 49-year-old Stephen Ellis.

McPherson was immediately transported to the Wake Forest Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries at night. McPherson was local to the area where she was struck and it is believed that she was crossing the road to go to the store when she was struck.

Police are still investigating the accident to see how fast Ellis was traveling at the time and other circumstances that could have contributed to the accident. No charges have been filed as of now.
