Lexington, SC (December 13, 2018) – On Wednesday night, December 12, the victim of a fatal accident lost their life due to the actions of another party. They have since been identified by police.
The accident took place on Interstate 26 in the eastbound lanes. The accident took place close to the area of Piney Grove Road. The driver of a pickup truck started experiencing mechanical issues and stopped in the middle lane of the interstate. While he was sitting there, a Ford SUV struck the truck from behind.
The driver of the pickup truck lost his life and was identified as 20-year-old Thaire Mkijana Terry. He had been traveling in the center lane when his vehicle became disabled.
Terry was quickly transported to a hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The driver and passengers of the SUV were taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries but they are all expected to recover.
The Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
