Lincoln County, NC (December 22, 2018) – Officers responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident that left one person.

Lincoln County, NC (December 22, 2018) – Officers responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident that left one person dead and another seriously injured yesterday along King Wilkinson Road.

Last evening, the two pedestrians were walking close to the area of Lee Lawing Road and trying to cross the street when a vehicle came up behind them and hit both of them.

One person was flown to the hospital with injuries and another was taken by ambulance. One of the people died after they were transported. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and no other information was released.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
