Linwood, NC (November 20, 2018) – One person was killed and two were injured in a deadly car accident that.

Linwood, NC (November 20, 2018) – One person was killed and two were injured in a deadly car accident that took place on Tuesday, November 20, at the intersection of Wilson Road and South NC Highway 150.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which caused an Explorer with three people in it to run off the road to the left and flip multiple times before it came to rest off the side of the road. One person was ejected from the vehicle and tragically passed away at the scene, identified as 28-year-old Joseph Wayne Walters. Walters was stuck under the vehicle after being ejected. Police say that he wouldn’t have lost his life if he were wearing a seatbelt.

There was another adult in the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Madison Kay Ashley, and a 1-year-old child. The child was not injured and Ashley was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries but is expected to recover. It is believed that those in the vehicle were a family.

Highway Patrol is still taking a closer look at the accident.
