Macon, GA – One Person Loses Life Due to Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Macon, GA (December 14, 2018) – Police with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian accident.

Macon, GA (December 14, 2018) – Police with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian accident that took the life of one person at an intersection.

The accident took place at the intersection of Mercer University and Arlington Park this morning around 1:30 a.m. At the time, a 25-year-old Macon man was traveling near the intersection in his Mitsubishi when he struck a pedestrian who worked directly into the path of his vehicle.

The pedestrian was since identified as 61-year-old Walter Kirtz of Macon, who was quickly transported to the hospital in critical condition due to his severe injuries. The driver did not receive injuries.

Police have reported that, since the incident, Walter Kirtz lost his life in this tragic and horrific accident. Police continue their investigation into the matter.
