Marietta, GA (December 16, 2018) – According to reports from the Georgia Highway Patrol, a four-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 75 at South Marietta Parkway at about 9:30 on Saturday night.
The highway accident involved a boat, an SUV, a trailer, and a mid-sized car. The severity of the accident resulted in the closing of all southbound lanes on the interstate for several hours. Police and emergency crews responded to the multi-car collision quickly. It has been reported that at least one fatality resulted from the pile-up and several other motorists suffered from a range of injuries. Tow trucks were also called out to the scene of the accident to haul away the various disabled vehicles.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time.
