Marion County, SC (December 26, 2018) – Police say that one person was killed and two others were injured in.

Marion County, SC (December 26, 2018) – Police say that one person was killed and two others were injured in a Christmas accident that took place yesterday morning on Highway 917.

The accident, according to police, happened close to the area of Old Stage Road in Mullins. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called out to the scene around 8 a.m.

Police say that the driver of a 2016 Nissan SUV ran a stop sign, causing them to strike a 2001 Nissan pickup truck. The driver of the truck tragically lost their life at the scene of the accident. Two other people, who were both wearing seat belts, were taken to the Marion Hospital.

The extent of the injuries and identities of the individuals involved have not been released. The driver of the SUV received charges for disregarding a stop sign.
