In two separate accidents that occurred Friday, August 10, 2018, crashes shut down Interstate 75 in both directions.  The crashes involved a total of 18 vehicles. Police reported that the first accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I75 and involved 6 cars.  Then, almost immediately after that, the second collision occurred in the northbound lane involving 8 cars and 2 semi-trucks.

Injuries were reported, but no details on the severity of the injuries and the number of people injured were reported.  Police reported that it took several hours to clear the highway and get traffic moving in both directions of I75.
