Morganton, NC (November 24, 2018) – A Morganton man was killed and another was seriously injured on Friday morning, November 23, when a vehicle crashed off the side of the road.
Police say that a 25-year-old named Richard Williams was killed when he lost control of his Jeep on Brentwood Road. He was involved in an accident with three other passengers including 23-year-old Thomas Parks Jr., 20-year-old John Franklin, and 28-year-old James Rahmings. They were headed toward Jamestown Road at the time of the accident.
When the Jeep lost control and was involved in an accident, it landed on its top in a creek near the road. The passengers were able to get out of the vehicle. Two of them refused medical treatment and one was taken to the hospital.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
