Morganton, NC (October 16, 2018) – One person lost his life in a serious Highway 181 crash that happened near Morganton, North Carolina around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 10.
The man has since been identified by police as Austin Seeley from Johnson City. At the time of the accident, Seeley had been riding in the back seat of a vehicle being driven by another young man from Tennessee. The driver was headed north on the highway when the accident occurred with another vehicle. Seeley was tragically killed and another passenger, identified as Halley Guinn, was seriously injured. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Seeley was only 20 years old at the time. Police say that he had not been wearing his seatbelt and, if he was, he might have survived.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
