Morgantown, NC (November 26, 2018) – Police responded to a fatal accident that took place on Interstate 79 near the 155 mile marker around 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 24.
Police conducted an investigation that found that the two had been driving south in an Accord when the vehicle crossed the median, striking a Jeep that was traveling north at the time.
The names of the deceased have not yet been released, as their family is still being notified, but it has been confirmed that the two were a couple with a son. There were two passengers in the Jeep who were immediately taken to the hospital with injuries but are expected to be okay.
At this time, an investigation continues so that police can determine what caused the Accord to cross the median.
