The accident happened that night around 8:00 p.m. when police responded to the accident on Highway 17. The incident took place by the Mount Pleasant Town Center. The officer was involved in a two-car accident with another vehicle.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded and confirmed that the police officer did not contribute to the accident and that it was the fault of the other party. They continue to investigate at this time.
