Myrtle Beach, SC (December 16, 2018) – This article is an update to one that was previously published regarding an auto accident that took place on Friday at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Middle Gate Road. According to the Horry County Deputy Coroner, the victim of the two-car accident has since been identified as 69-year-old Brenda Spires Epps of Myrtle Beach.

Epps died from injuries sustained during the early morning wreck when her westward-bound Toyota Avalon on Middle Gate Road was side-swiped by a Dodge pick-up truck that was headed north on U.S. 17. The driver of the pick-up truck failed to mind a traffic light or a traffic sign. The exact cause is still unclear.

Following the traffic accident, Epps was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.
